Smooching & Slashing: Anatomy of a First Kiss

nytheatre.com q&a preview by Christopher Simpson
October 10, 2012

What is your job on this show?
Technical Director .

When did you know you wanted to work in the theater, and why?
I got the theater bug doing a bootleg children's theater camp production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." I was the head dwarf, Bob. That's right, Bob. Not Doc. I've been hooked since.

What was the last show you saw that really excited you, and why?
"Sleep No More". It was unlike any theatrical experience I've encountered. It was the perfect combination of music, space, and movement. And all the things that everyone else said about the show. I can't wait to see it again.

How did you meet your fellow artists/collaborators on this show?
Robbie and I took an improv class together at the Magnet Theater a few years ago and have been friends since.

Which “S” word best describes your show: SMOOTH, SEXY, SMART, SURPRISING?
Surprising.

Who are your heroes?
Batman. Mostly for his discipline and intelligence.
