THE DICK AND THE ROSE q&a preview by Gail Shalan
July 27, 2012

What is your job on this show?
Actor/ Puppeteer.

What type of theater do you like most to work on?
Theatre that exposes the deep truth of humanity, especially if it makes us laugh in doing so! Theatre that explores those thin, thin lines between humor and horror, sorrow and joy, rage and ecstasy... like The Dick And The Rose!

Complete this sentence: My show is the only one in FringeNYC that...?
stars a 15 foot long phallus and will still wrench your heart strings.

How did you meet your fellow artists/collaborators on this show?
Both the Director/Playwright and the Producer are the parents of my oldest childhood friend... so I played make believe in their treehouse until I was way too old to be doing such things.

Which “S” word best describes your show: SMOOTH, SEXY, SMART, SURPRISING?

Why should people come to FringeNYC this summer, rather than the beach, mountains, or the latest movie blockbuster?
It promises to make your heart pound faster, your breath drop deeper, your eyes open wider, and your heart soar more than any of those experiences...
