What is your job on this show?
All of the above..
What type of theater do you like most to work on?
I like working best on the classics (Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, etc.) and also modern classics (Miller, Williams, O'Neill). Works that provoke thought and explore the human condition.
Why is this piece a solo play (rather than a multi-actor play)?
The play is, in many respects, about loneliness and the process of finding/constructing a personal identity. I contemplated having other actors play the smaller roles, but decided it would be distracting from the theme of individuality.
In your own words, what do you think this show is about? What will audiences take away with them after seeing it?
The Metamorphosis is a humorous, but darkly serious meditation on identity, loneliness and the importance of being oneself. I hope it will cause audience members to reflect on how these themes apply in their own lives.
Groucho, Chico, Harpo, or Zeppo?
Groucho.
Who are your heroes?
My theater heroes are: Patrick Stewart, Max Von Sydow, and F. Murray Abraham.
