What is your show about?
Four contemporary women tell their stories: What happens after newlyweds in the era of free love realize they are not going to live happily ever after? How can they remain creative and sane in the face of relentless pressure to fit in?
What type of theater do you like most to work on?
As Judith Malina of The Living Theatre has said, "if it's not poetry, it doesn't belong on the stage." For me it's all about language—the lines that stay with you after you leave the theater. Tennessee Williams is a great example of poetic language on the stage.

...promises to reveal a cure for "happily ever after." The women of "The Old In and Out" start out on a pretty traditional path to marriage, but things don't work out. That's when their stories really take off. It was the free-love 70's, after all: hitchhiking, altered consciousness, and sex, of course.

If you had ten million dollars that you had to spend on theatrical endeavors, how would you use the money?
I would support small independent theater everywhere, like the one started in Denver by my personal mentors, Al Brooks and Maxine Munt. The Changing Scene is long gone, but it was a place where artists could take creative risks. This is where great work is born.
