LoveSick q&a preview by Kevin Meoak
July 14, 2012

What is your job on this show?
Producer/Managing Director of LOFT ensemble.

When did you know you wanted to work in the theater, and why?
When I was 15 years old, I walked out on a stage and delivered a line to a full house that roared with laughter. From that moment, I knew the theater was a home for me.

Why did you want to be part of FringeNYC?
Because I believe LoveSick deserves a wider audience, and has a magical romantic sense to it that New Yorkers will love.

How did you meet your fellow artists/collaborators on this show?
LOFT ensemble is a company that formed in Los Angeles from a small group of actors and writers that worked together on multiple shows. We decided to go our own way and form a core group of talent trained in the Viewpoints method. I have to say this is the best, most wonderful group of artists I have ever known and our collaboration together has just begun.

People who like which of the following recent Broadway shows would also probably like your show: THE BOOK OF MORMON, ONCE, DEATH OF A SALESMAN, CLYBOURNE PARK?
ONCE, because it shares that sense of romance and wonder and isn't afraid to push boundaries.

Why should people come to FringeNYC this summer, rather than the beach, mountains, or the latest movie blockbuster?
The theater is a new experience every time you take a seat in the house and lights go down. No other experience can bring a sense of newness and wonderment like seeing a play the first time...and FringeNYC lets you do that for the price of a 3D movie.
